Kemek is a holding Company for Irish Industrial Explosives Limited (IIE) and Ulster Industrial Explosives Limited (UIE). The head office is based in Enfield, Co. Meath and are specialists in the use of commercial explosives, accessories and Technical Services including blasting to the Mining, Civil Engineering and Quarrying Industries.
Kemek is a joint venture between The Société Anonyme d’Explosifs et de Produits Chimiques (EPC) France, and Cement Roadstone Holding plc (CRH) Ireland.
Job Title: Graduate Blasting Engineer x 1
Location: 1 based in South
Reports To: Technical Sales Manager, South
Program Goals
The role will provide the successful candidate with:
- An opportunity to develop technical skills within their area of expertise.
- Gain practical, challenging, and meaningful experience, while learning about the Kemek operation, culture as well as the Quarrying Industry.
- Regular one to ones and feedback from your manager.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- To gain an understanding of the fundamentals about how the different parts of the business operate.These include:
- Face Profiling
- Drone Surveying
- Shotfiring / Blasting Supervision
- Vibration Monitoring and Analysis
- Quarry based calculations
- Depot inventory management
- Liaising, developing, and maintaining relationships with current and potential customers
- Comply with Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality standards, and work instructions
- Promotion of Sales of Explosives, Accessories and Technical Services
- Full training will be provided to the successful candidates
Requirements:
- The ideal candidate will have a Degree in Civil, Mining or Construction Engineering or GeospatialSurveying or another related Engineering field
- They will have recently graduated and have 2 years relevant work experience
- The successful person must have a valid clean driver’s licence
- The candidate should have an interest in technology or digitisation
- They must also have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- They must be proficient in using Microsoft including Office, Excel and Outlook
